Golden Apple Award: Ashley Jones

ROSSVILLE, Georgia (WDEF) – Parents say Ashley Jones teaches with love, and respect.

Jones is a second generation teacher.

Now, she’s teaching 1st graders at Cloud Springs Elementary School, and making a difference.

Mrs. Kellie Yarbrough is the Principal at the school.

“Miss Jones is an exceptional person. She is amazing at what she does for students, and for our school. She puts her heart and dedication into everything she does. She dreams big and she has the skills and ability to put those dreams into action.”

As Jones grew up, she wanted to be everything from a Doctor, to the President of the United States.

But both her Mother and Father are educators, and that inspired her decision to be a teacher.

“The other day I was going through my mom’s box of things she had kept from when I was in first grade. And we actually found a drawing that said it, I want to be a teacher when I grow up.”

Jones tries to make sure her students know that she cares about them.

Her hard work has earned her this week’s Golden Apple Award.
