Good news & bad news for our rising country music stars this week
NASHVILLE (WDEF) – More good news to report on Tennessee Valley rising stars Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina this week.
But there is also a bummer to report about the ACM awards.
Both Brown and Alaina scored their first nominations.
Brown for New Male Vocalist of the Year and Alaina for Female Vocalist of the Year.
The big awards will be named live from Las Vegas on Sunday April 2nd on CBS.
But the non-prime time awards were handed out this week.
Jon Pardi beat out Brown for his award, and Maren Morris won the category with Lauren Alaina.
Still, we’ve got better news for our local artists.
Alaina’s current hit, Road Less Traveled, continues to climb the charts.
This week it hit #5 both the Mediabase and Billboard radio play charts.

And Kane has been shooting a video for his song What Ifs, which is a duet with non other than his old LFO classmate Lauren Alaina.
They both have been posting photos from the shoot on the Pacific Coast.
