Goose round-up at Chickamauga Dam

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture is taking steps to restore balance in waterfowl on Chickamauga Lake. And that requires removing geese and some ducks from the area.

A spokesman for the USDA told us today that the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service began the effort yesterday morning.

Three geese were removed and 150 more are being dispersed from the beach/recreation areas.

The goal is to manage waterfowl and reach a balance between the positive values, and the conflicts the birds may present.
