Gov. Lee is ending the Covid state of emergency

NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Governor Bill Lee is ending the current Covid-19 state of emergency in Tennessee.

It will expire at midnight and he is not renewing it.

“For almost 20 months, this tool has provided deregulation and operational flexibility for hospitals and industries most affected by COVID’s challenges.”

The Governor says if there are any future surges, he will consider reinstating the state of emergency.

“But in the meantime, we are evaluating opportunities for permanent deregulation.”
