Governor Candidate Randy Boyd visits Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Knoxville businessman and gubernatorial candidate Randy Boyd was in Chattanooga today to pick up an endorsement from Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger.

Boyd previously served in Governor Bill Haslam’s cabinet as the state Commissioner of Economic and Community Development.

While serving as the Governor’s Special Advisor on Higher Education, he was the architect of the state’s Drive to 55 workforce development initiative, and the Tennessee Promise scholarship programs.

Randy Boyd is one of 5 republicans and 2 democrats who want to succeed Governor Bill Haslam.
