Governor Deal declared state of emergency for all of Georgia

GEORGIA (WDEF) — Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has expanded the state of emergency to all 159 counties – that adds an additional 65 counties.

The Governor spoke with the media today and expanded the declaration from recommendations from the state’s emergency operations command.

While speaking with the media Governor Deal asked for residents and everyone to not drive during the hurricane.

“We urge you not to get on the roads until you have been given clearance by everyone that is required to give the clearance so that we do not have the kind of confusion that could result from a mass exodus,” the governor said.

According to a press release, state government will be closed Monday and Tuesday for most all employees.
