Grateful Sports provides children in need with sports equipment

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF)- With the Holidays just around the corner, Grateful Sports wants to make sure no child goes into the New Year without a ball, bat, or a glove.

Jeb Bennett, owner of Grateful Sports, created a small sports equipment closet, for children who are wanting to play or try a sport, but don’t have access to the funds for equipment and gear.

The items are all donated from local people in the area or other places in the USA.

Bennett believes that children deserve the chance play the sport they love, no matter their financial situation.

As of right now, all donations are being kept at Bennett’s house, due to the lack of a large holding space, and simply meets individuals to give the equipment in person.

Bennett says, “In the long run, I would like to have a storage unit or an office space for folks to come to if they need equipment.”

He says that it is a dream to go national and worldwide, but he wants to first make sure children in his home state are taken care of first.

“If you have needs, it is getting to be Christmas time, so if your kids are needing some newer stuff and it’s hard times right now, feel free to reach out. I’d love to help out, if I’m able to.”

If you are interested in donating to Grateful Sports, here are some examples of things that are accepted.
