“Gritty” Dobbs Earns SEC Player of the Week Honors
Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs is the SEC offensive player of the week after running for 80-yards, and throwing for 319-yards in UT’s big win over Florida.
Those are numbers head coach Butch Jones would love to see again this weekend when the Vols visit Georgia.
Said Jones-“I thought this was probably the grittiest game Josh Dobbs has played in his career. I thought he grew up as a quarterback in terms of throwing the football. He was able to set his feet. He was a high vision quarterback in the pocket, and he proved he can throw the football.”
Said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart-“Josh Dobbs is a phenomenal player, who plays the game with heart and energy. He plays with great toughness. They ask him to run the ball up the middle, and he does it. They ask him to run outside. He does it.”
Tennessee and Georgia will be televised Saturday on News 12 Now at 3:30pm, and the game will be streaming on our web page.
