Group urges senators to vote against the appointment of Scott Pruitt

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A group of Chattanoogans gathered outside the Federal Court Building to urge Senators Corker and Alexander to vote against the appointment of Scott Pruitt as Administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency.

Scott Pruitt is the attorney general of Oklahoma.

He has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the EPA which has lead to outrage in the environmental community.

That’s because Pruitt has sued the EPA 14 times.

“Senator Alexander, please vote no on Scott Pruitt. Don’t make America’s air quality like China’s by approving a dedicated friend of polluters and an opponent of clean air and science as E.P.A. administrator,” says Chen Zhang, an advocate for a healthy Tennessee.

Pruitt told the Senate we have to reject the idea that if you’re pro-energy, you’re anti-environment and that if you’re pro-environment you’re anti-energy.
