Grundy Sheriff suspends two corrections officers over crash

ALTAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – Grundy County sheriff Clint Shrum has suspended two corrections officers without pay.

That’s for their involvement in a 2 vehicle crash that injured the other driver.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol have both started an investigation into Thursday’s crash.

The corrections officers in a patrol car crashed into the rear of a white Nissan, causing non-life-threatening injuries to the female driver.

There was an inmate in the back seat of the patrol car at the time.

Sheriff Shrum tells news 12 corrections officer Tyler Hargis is suspended for 30 days without pay.

Corrections Officer Cody Nunley was a passenger in the car.

He’s suspended for 4 days.
