Gun hunting season for deer opens in Tennessee

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – It’s the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and that means gun hunting season for deer opens today in Tennessee.

That means hunters can use muzzle-loaders or archery equipment.

The TWRA says those born on or after January 1st, 1969 need to carry proof they have completed a hunter education class, or they have the required hunting licenses.

Forestry crews are asking hunters to stay away from the wildfire areas for their safety
