Hamilton Co. Schools closing due to flooding
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County Schools are closing due to flooding and additional rainfall on the way.
The Department of Education made the announcement at 11:05 a.m. saying schools were closing immediately. Buses are to run within the next hour.
Due to flooding and rain expected during the afternoon, schools are closing with students eligible to be picked up immediately. Buses will run beginning at noon. After school care is canceled but employees will take care of children until they can be picked up by parents.

The schools say flooding, especially in the northern part of the county near Soddy-Daisy schools, could become more of a problem later today.
