The Hamilton County Children’s Advocacy Center Works to Bring Awareness to Child Abuse

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – April is child abuse prevention and awareness month,  which is why the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County (CACHC) is teaming up with several other child serving agencies in the area, spreading the word about child abuse prevention, awareness, and protection.

“It is important to protect kids, and to know what to do to keep kids safe in our community,” said Hamilton Co. Children’s Advocacy Center’s executive director, Shelley McGraw.

For more than two decades now CACHC has helped countless victims of abuse become children again by breaking the cycle of abuse. In fact, the agency saw more than 650 children last year alone.

“We certainly do see the worst of the worst, and thank goodness that we are here and have a wonderful group of community partners to help us do what we do,” said McGraw. To report child abuse in Tennessee, dial: 1-877-54-ABUSE, or click here.
