Hamilton County Commission Votes To Expand Early Voting Locations

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – In a move to meet the county’s growing population, The Hamilton County Commission voted today to expand the number of early voting locations.

The early voting locations grew by three today. The vote took place at Tuesday morning’s county commission meeting.

Commissioners Greg Martin and Warren Mackey voted no on the expansion that ended up passing. Martin said he opposed the money coming from the commission’s fund balance they set aside for other projects. He wanted the money to come from the general budget.

“I don’t necessarily have a problem with the money. It’s the process. I wish we had this conversation last year about the upcoming budget.”

Hamilton County maintains a triple a rating bond rating with all three bond rating agencies. They have maintained this rating since 2011 and signifies a healthy financial status.
