Hamilton County group plans to attend President Trump’s rally in Nashville
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Republicans in the Tennessee Valley are gearing up to head to Nashville to see President Trump.
“The Hamilton County and Bradley County Republican Parties put together a bus trip for about fifty or so people to help make it easy for the event,” said Joe DeGaetamo, chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party
Organizers say it was important to put together the trip for people who are interested in seeing the President.
“It is a good experience for people to get up and see in person the President of the United States and we just wanted to provide that as a service to members,” DeGaetamo said.
People attending are anxious to hear the President speak on certain topics.
“Well in addition just to seeing the President, I would say a lot of people are probably interested in hearing about the President’s plan for the new healthcare law and what that’s going to mean for all Tennesseans,” DeGaetamo said.
Another topic people are interested in hearing the President speak about is education.
“I think anybody who has children in school would be interested in any changes to public school funding and public school availability and other options for educating their children,” DeGaetamo said.
And they realize this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“It is pretty rare. I’ve seen one president in person at a big event like this in my life. And so I think most people don’t get a chance to see the president. The fact that he is going to be just two hours away is a good opportunity to see a President speak.”
The groups will leave from Chattanooga at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday. President Trumps event is slated to start at 6:30 p.m. in Nashville.
