Hamilton County officials say Hixson child shooting was not intentional

HIXSON, Tennessee (WDEF) – Hamilton County investigators have released more information on a shooting case in Hixson.

A three year old was shot Wednesday night at a home on Valley Lane.

The injury did not appear to be life threatening.

The sheriff’s department preliminary findings are that the child was ” injured while being unsupervised in an area where a firearm was left unsecured.”

Officials are not saying if any charges are being considered in the case.
