Hamilton County School Board discusses plans for condemned East Ridge High School Stadium.
Today marked the first public meeting to discuss the stadium, but school board members, like David Testerman, said it’s been a long time coming.
Officials condemned the home side stands at the stadium, which heavily affects football season.
Testerman said it’s going to be a slow process, but tonight they discussed the option of demolition down to scheduling the time and the cost of demolishing the current stadium.
"It’s no secret," said Testerman, "We need some repairs. East Ridge needs some desperately, and I think we will see that happen. It’s just gone be a slow process, but I anticipate us approving demolition—probably take place before the end of this year."
Until officials reach a solution East Ridge is still holding games at the school, but only using the away team seating. The other side has been marked off and protected my security during the games.
