Hamilton County Schools closed Friday, 15th, due to illness

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – Hamilton County Schools will be closed Friday due to illness among staff and students.

The district says they have monitored absence numbers closely for students and staff over the past week.

They say the number of absences related to illness in the teaching staff tomorrow will make it difficult for the district to provide a quality day of instruction.

The schoool district is helping parents who need assistance with child care by opening seven locations of school-aged child care from 7 am to 6 pm tomorrow.

The locations are: Battle Academy, East Brainerd Elementary, East Ridge Elementary, Harrison Elementary, Middle Valley Elementary, Red Bank Elementary, and Wolftever Creek Elementary.

All twelve-month employees report as scheduled on Friday.

Polk County schools have also closed ALL their schools for Friday (Copper Basin schools were closed Thursday)

Marion County schools were previously closed Thursday & Friday.

All because of illness.
