Hamilton County Schools suspend three employees

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – An investigation continues as three “Howard school” employees are suspended.

A spokesperson for Hamilton County schools confirmed the suspension of Howard band director, Dexter Bell, Counselor Jenny Smith and Teacher Amelia James. It is said that suspensions were placed because the employees failed to report child abuse.

Both law enforcement and the Department of Children’s Services have been notified. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
