HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Highway 58.

On August 17, 2025, at 8:15 p.m., HCSO personnel responded to the 9400 block of Highway 58 on reports of a multi-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, deputies located a green Ford Fiesta and a white Toyota 4Runner involved in an accident.

The HCSO says the driver of the Ford Fiesta had to be extricated from the vehicle, and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Unfortunately, the driver of the Fiesta later died from their injuries.

The HCSO’s preliminary investigation indicates that the white 4Runner hit a guardrail near Wolftever Bridge before hitting a red vehicle.

The white 4Runner continued northbound, and as it entered a two-lane section of Highway 58, it struck the Ford Fiesta head-on.

As a result, the Ford Fiesta then hit a red Toyota 4Runner.

The HCSO is still investigating this incident.
