Hamilton County’s unemployment rate drops 1/10th of a percent in September

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The county by county breakdown of unemployment rates in Tennessee for September 2015 show the rates decreased in 29 counties, increased in 24, and remained the same in 24 counties.

        Davidson County had the state’s lowest major metropolitan rate in September at 4.6 percent, up from August’s rate of 4.5 percent.  The Hamilton County September rate was 5.6 percent, down from 5.7 in August.

        Tennessee’s preliminary unemployment rate for September was 5.7 percent, unchanged from the previous month. The U.S. preliminary rate for September was 5.1 percent, the same as it was for August.

        The attached picture shows which counties have the state’s highest and lowest unemployment rates.
