Hannah Jones Last Second Bucket Lifts Bradley Central to District Title Over McMinn Co

Athens, TN-(WDEF-TV) Hannah Jones hit a lay-in with roughly 10 seconds to play to lift Bradley Central to a 37-36 win over McMinn County in the finals of their district tournament. It was the Bearettes 12th straight district tournament title.

Bradley Central built an 11 point lead in the third quarter, but it was erased by McMinn County. The Cherokees wound up taking a 30-28 lead into the fourth quarter. Game stayed tight in the final period. With Bradley Central nursing a one point lead with under a minute to play, they threw the ball away.

McMinn County’s Peyton Oliver was fouled on the other end, and she converted both free throws to make it 36-35 Cherokees with 26 seconds left. Oliver had a game high 19 points.

Bradley Central called a play for Hannah Jones, and she scored underneath for the game winner. Jones finished with 16 points. McMinn had a couple of close range shots at the end, but they didn’t fall, and the Bearettes held on for the 37-36 win.
