HCDE Announces Top 5 Finalists for Superintendent
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Hamilton County school board members continue to narrow the field of candidates for the next superintendent.
Earlier this week, the conducted Skype interviews and called the remaining candidates back in to meet them in person.
Hamilton County School Board met in a special session meeting this evening.
They have narrowed down their candidates from 8 to now the top 5.
Those candidates are Wayne Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Stuart Greenberg, Timothy Gadson, and Kirk Kelly.
The special meeting began with Hamilton County School Board members publically announcing their five candidates they selected.
The first voting round was a tie between Kirk Kelly and Jack Elsey.
In the second round, Kirk Kelley won the 5th seat by a vote of 5-to-4.
These candidates will be invited for in-person interviews.
Selection is set for June 1
