HCSO K-9 Deputy Nero goes into retirement
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Hamilton County Sheriff’s Officer (HCSO) K-9 Deputy named Nero is headed into retirement.
Nero has served with HCSO for seven years, starting in May of 2018.
This K-9 has had a very successful career with handler Deputy Andrew Voss.
Some of Nero’s career highlights include the following:
- Spent over 568 hours assisting other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
- Helped seize over $278,000 in cash
- Made over (80) Felony Arrests
- Located over 12 Pounds of Heroin/Fentanyl
- Located over 39 Pounds of Methamphetamine
- Located over 24 Pounds of Marijuana
- Located over (20) Firearms
- Conducted over 30 building and 220 vehicle searches
- Assisted our SWAT Team over 140 times
- Helped the K-9 Unit issue over 1,000 Traffic Warnings
