Health Department reopened Covid-19 Testing Center
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn (WDEF) – Covid-19 Testing is back!
The Hamilton County Health Department reopened their covid-19 testing center here at the Tennessee River Park, but they have also made some adjustments to streamline the process.
“This time it’s a kit. People can do their own nasal swabs. Then we will mail it off for them and they will get the results within several days,” says Marti Smith, Site Manager at the Tennessee Riverpark.
With the coronavirus surge getting worse and cases skyrocketing- the Hamilton County Health department felt that it was necessary to reopen their covid testing site.
The testing site is located at the Tennessee Riverpark and there are already plenty of testing kits ready to go.
“You have to go onto the company’s website and register. You have to have an email so they can communicate with you. Then you follow the instructions that are included in the test kit. We’re doing about 200 – 250 tests per day. We operate 10-3 just Monday through Friday,” says Smith.
The testing is only available for ages 18 & above. Those wanting to get a test for a child age 17 or younger, will need to go to the Health Department’s website to find a location that tests that age group.
