HES waives puppy adoption fees for Clear The Shelters
Fees for adopting other dogs have also been waived to help new pet owners redirect funds toward supplies for their furry companions.
Each adoption through HES includes:
- Spay/neuter
- Vaccinations
- Microchip
- One month of free access to an online pet behavior helpline
- A small bag of dog food and toys
The shelter is also in need of foster families for puppies. For more information on fostering, visit their website.

HES wants the community to know that while fees are waived, it doesn’t reflect a lesser value or care for the pets.
“When adoption fees are waived, Humane Educational Society adopters fill out the exact same application and go through the same exact adoption matching and approval process that they always do, regardless of the fees,” said HES Executive Director, Rebecca Bryan.
With over 600 animals in their care, HES is far beyond capacity.
The shelter lacks the staff, funding, and space to meet the current demand for intake.
Community support is critical through adoption, fostering, donating, and volunteering.
Bryan also highlighted the importance of spaying and neutering pets.
“There is already more demand for spay/neuter surgery than there are resources to fund the service at an accessible price. HES and other local organizations have to work with the funding available and the laws/ordinances written by state/local government.”
