Highway 58 firefighter dies in motorcycle crash on Birchwood Pike
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A firefighter died in a motorcycle crash on Birchwood Pike in Harrison on Wednesday.
The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department gave the tragic news on Friday morning.
They identified the victim as firefighter Tris Lirette.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened May 1 around 6 p.m. Upon arrival, first responders attempted life-saving measures on the motorcyclist.
However, he died at the scene from his injuries, HCSO said.
The fire department said Lirette just graduated from fire academy the day before the crash, on April 30.
“Firefighter Lirette leaves behind a wife and young daughter, who our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to,” the Highway 58 VFD said in a post.
Lirette’s funeral and visitation will take place next Friday, May 10 at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 5 p.m.
