Hiker rescued from Pocket Wilderness

She had to be brought out after injuring her leg

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tennessee (WDEF) – It took several hours, but Hamilton County rescuers successfully brought out an injured hiker this evening from the Pocket Wilderness.

It happened Monday afternoon on the trials on the side of Montlake mountain.

Hamilton County emergency management reported that the female hiker had fallen and suffered a serious leg fracture.

She could not walk out.

Rescuers from several agencies responded to carry her out.

They got her off the mountain by 7PM this evening and sent her to the hospital.
