Hiring Fair held for Chattanooga Midtown area

Organizer hopes job growth will lead to community growth

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) — Urban Story Ventures partnered with the city of Chattanooga this afternoon to host the Midtown Hiring Fair.

Councilwoman Carol Berz and the city’s Office of Workforce Development helped with the fair’s organization.

Numerous local businesses were there hoping to find candidates who could fill immediate openings in the city’s Midtown area.

One fair organizer says she and neighboring businesses hope to see Midtown further become a “live, work, play” destination.

“They see a lot of opportunity because there are a lot of resources,” said Megan Bissonette. “The city actually has a lot of offices and agencies here. People can come here for what they need and not have to go all the way around town for what they’re looking for.”

For those looking for work who couldn’t make it this afternoon — no worries.
