Historic Center Supports Youth and Families
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – For more than a century, The Bethlehem Center has remained a part of the Alton Park community, working to support generations of local families.
Founded in 1911, the center was established to serve children and families in Chattanooga, with a focus on education and community-based support.
Today, that mission continues through youth-focused programming, including after-school and summer opportunities that provide structured environments for students.
The organization also relies on volunteers who help support programming and engage with students, contributing to daily activities and mentorship.
Children who attend the center take part in a variety of activities, including tutoring support, crafts, and Bible study-based programming, along with other enrichment opportunities.
The center also provides meals and snacks during programming, helping address food insecurity concerns for some children in the community.
According to the organization, its work centers on education, relationships, and ongoing connection with the community it serves.
