CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Hop on over to the annual “Hug A Bunny” event at the Chattanooga Zoo this weekend!

To welcome spring each year, the Chattanooga Zoo hosts their annual “Hug A Bunny” event which lets guests get to meet and pet fluffy rabbits and also meet the Easter Bunny. The event has plenty of games and a bounce house to keep the fun going.

The event came together after noticing a trend of parents buying rabbits for their children on Easter, and then realizing that it’s a lot harder to take care of them than anticipated. The “Hug A Bunny” event helps families enjoy petting a rabbit without the long-term commitment.

They are also hiding a golden egg around the zoo with the grand prize of a free family membership. With a membership to the Chattanooga Zoo, free admission is included along with multiple discounts, including 70% a ticket for “Hug A Bunny.” Additionally, the zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums which offers half off or free admission to hundreds of other accredited zoos and institutions.

“Hug A Bunny” is happening on April 18 and 19 from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Tickets are timed and separate to general admission.
