Hope Community Fridge Holds Grand Opening to Public

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- There is a new resource available for those struggling with food insecurity in our community.

A new food pantry called the Hope Community Fridge held its grand opening today. It is located at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on East Brainerd Road.

They had plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables available at today’s opening.

The founder, Chaney Lanham, says there are many ways the community can help as, “People need to utilize the fridge. That’s by dropping items off, taking things even. They can share our post on Facebook to spread the word. We also need volunteers to check on the fridge daily to make sure everything is good with expiration dates and just things like that.”

There was also a raffle for those who attended the opening and donated to the cause. The Hope Community Garden is also attached to the Hope Community Fridge.

You can support the pantry via Chi Farms, who will deliver 20 dollars of produce you purchase to the fridge To learn more about the pantry and donate, visit the Hope Community Fridge’s Linktree page.
