CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A stolen vehicle led police to arrest five suspects on gun, theft and drug charges.

It started last Thursday, when Chattanooga Police auto crimes investigators tracked the stolen vehicle to a location on Hixson Pike.

But instead of immediately seizing it, they waited.

Police say three suspects returned to the vehicle.

They arrested them, then got a search warrant for their apartment.

They say that lead them to a pair of other suspects, along with two pistols, a rifle, ammo, stolen car keys, drugs and drug paraphernalia.

And the criminal trail continues.

Chattanooga Police say that ballistic forensics on the guns could link them to other crimes.
