How the Just 4U Toy Drive Is Creating Smiles This Christmas

Herman’s Restaurant on Brainerd Road hosted the Just 4 U Toy Drive, and the excitement soared as Santa made a spectacular entrance.

It wasn’t your typical holiday event—this year, Santa traded his sleigh for a helicopter and flew in with a festive flair.

“The kids really enjoyed it today. We had a food vendor who donated food for the kids to eat, and people brought cookies, toys, apples, and oranges for Christmas,” said the owner of Herman’s Restaurant.

The event was a hit, with toys pouring in from generous donors, all to ensure every child had a special gift this Christmas.

“This toy drive started 30 years ago through Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church with just two kids. Over the years, it has grown, and right before COVID, we were able to serve 162 kids. Today, we’ve stretched even further, thanks to Herman’s Soul Food and many other sponsors,” said Lamont Solomon, coordinator of the Just 4U Toy Drive.

A holiday tradition full of joy, laughter, and the true spirit of giving
