Howard Claims First Ever Region Soccer Crown With 2-1 Victory Over Sequoyah

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Howard Hustlin’ Tigers won their first ever region soccer title on Thursday after beating Seqouyah 2-1 in the finals of the Region 3-AA tournament at Chattanooga Christian. The Chiefs scored in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Christian Garcia got the Hustlin’ Tigers first goal of the second half to tie the game at one. Then with roughly two minutes to go, Seqouyah was called for a hand ball in the penalty box. Set up a short penalty kick, which Sergio Marcos Esquivel easily knocked home to lift Howard to a 2-1 victory and a region title.
