Howard Falls in the State Tournament 59-51 to Jackson South Side

The Howard Hustlin’ Tigers lost in the state quarterfinals on Thursday in Murfreesboro falling 59-51 to top ranked Jackson South Side. Howard led for most of the game, but the Hawks used an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to build an 8-point lead in the final quarter.  Howard couldn’t generate much offense in the fourth quarter, shooting just 13 percent from the floor. Kerrick Thorne led Howard with 14 points, while the Hawks Michael Ward finished with 20.
