Ice Skating Returns to Chattanooga
Chattanooga Presents, the organization responsible for Nightfall and the Lighted Boat Parade, will set up a temporary rink near Ross’s Landing for the holiday season. The 50′ by 70′ open air rink will be available from November 28th to January 4th. Chattanooga Presents hopes it will have the feel of the Rockefeller Center rink in New York City.
On the Morning Show’s facebook page, viewers expressed their excitement. Dawn Kropff posted she loves the idea. "There was a rink at Eastgate when I moved here in 1999. It was one of my first dates with my husband in 2001. I am a southern transplant from Ohio so I miss skating and going to hockey games. Cant wait to get my skates out of the storage box."
Lisa Allen-Rader posted she thinks "it’s a great idea! When I moved here there was an ice skating rink where Track 29 is now! It is so much fun and everybody needs to try it at least once!" While Tonya Kerby Jennings says "This is great. I remember going downtown when I was little ice skating and it was one of the best memories ever. Every young lady should have this opportunity as a child. This can be enjoyed by all ages. Thank you Chattanooga."
The rink will be made possible thanks to sponsorship help from Volkswagen.
