Insure Tennessee Proposal Fails Senate Committee Vote

(WDEF) The first vote on Governor Bill Haslam’s Insure Tennessee proposal failed Wednesday in the Senate Health Committee.
Lawmakers in Nashville discussed the proposal to extend health coverage to 280,000 low-income Tennesseans during a special legislative session.
Opponents of the bill worry that it uses Obamacare funds.
Speaker Beth Harwell already planned to discuss an alternate version.
But with no prospects for an early consensus.. The special session has been dismissed.
