Interstate chase leads to drug arrests

ROCKY FACE, Georgia (WDEF) A high speed chase on I 75 Wednesday night led officers to a drug arrest.

It started near the Rocky Face exit after 6pm, when a Whitfield County officer tried to pull over a driver who he thought might be impaired.

But the driver wouldn’t pull over and eventually took off.

At one point speeds went over 90 miles an hour.

A Georgia State Trooper joined the chase at the Catoosa line and performed a PIT maneuver on the pickup.

The driver lost control and hit the guardrail.

The officers say they found two handguns, and 22 ounces of meth.

The value of the ICE is estimated at $50,000.

39 year old William Thomas Burton Jr. from Rogersville, Tennessee has been charged with drug trafficking and traffic violations.
