Intimidation lawsuit settled out of court between former officers, Soddy-Daisy

SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF)- The city of Soddy-Daisy has settled a lawsuit related to a controversial case.

Eric Jenkins and Jake Elrod had sued the city over what they alleged was intimidation during the investigation of Justin Whaley.

Whaley had been previously convicted in the vehicular manslaughter of James Brumlow in 20-18, which has since been overturned due to concerns over a witness.

An attorney for the city of Soddy-Daisy says that the lawsuit has been settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.

There is no word on when a potential retrial of Justin Whaley could be held.
