Investigators identify man shot by police as Cesar Ramos

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – We have new information about the officer involved shooting that happened on Monday morning.

The suspect’s name has been released 25 year old Cesar Ramos was the man that was shot and killed on 15th Avenue.

Chattanooga Police say after six in the morning they responded there for reports of a man shooting at houses.

Investigators say when officers arrived they approached the armed suspect and shots were fired.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The investigation was then turned over to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

All responding Chattanooga Police officers were placed on administrative leave, pending the results of the investigation.

Ramos was awaiting a trial on a drug and resisting arrest charges from January.
