Ironman race continues despite weather
CHATTANOOGA,Tenn. (WDEF)- Representatives with the Iron man races provided an updates for this weekend.
With recent weather the race will be without the swimming course.
This is due to keeping competitors safe from the water quality.
However, More than a thousand competitors will still compete.
“As of right now, we got about half of athletes checked in. So we got until five o’clock today to check in athletes, and tomorrow nine to 11 as well,” said Brian Myrick, Race Director for Ironman. “There are certainly some travel delays and travel issues that we are working to sort through with our with our athletes. But, we expect a bunch more to continue to show up.”
The race will start at 8 am on Sunday with the bike competition.
