Jackson County School Superintendent dies

Kevin Dukes was a lifelong resident and school system veteran of 24 years

SCOTTSBORO, Alabama (WDEF) – The Jackson County School System on Wednesday announced the death of their superintendent.

“Our Superintendent, Mr. Kevin Dukes has passed. He was loved and will be missed by many. His passion and leadership will never be forgotten. Please keep the Jackson County School District and the Dukes family in your thoughts and prayers.”

They are not releasing any details of his death.

Dukes was re-elected as Superintendent last year.

He leaves behind a wife and three children.

Dukes worked in the school system for 24 years, as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal.

He graduated from Section High School.

That’s where the services will be held on Friday.

Visitation is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the funeral beginning at 2 p.m.
