Janet Hinds arrested again on a Revoked Bond

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Hamilton County Sheriff’s Fugitive officers have re-arrested Janet Hinds.

Criminal Court had issued a warrant on her for a Revoked Bond.

The warrant says she failed an alcohol screening that was a condition of her bond.

Hinds multiple charges including vehicular homicide by intoxication for hitting and killing police officer Nicholas Galinger.

She will remain in jail now until she has a new bond hearing.

Hamilton CountyWithout discussing this specific case, Criminal court Judge Don Poole explained the procedure of dismissing the bond and returning a suspect to jail, and why the case is back in his court.

“It could happen in a normal DUI case, yes sir, and it could happen in any other type case, where there are other restrictions other than a monetary bond. A lot of times bonds are set lower, and then there are other restrictions placed on it like, alcohol monitoring, or house arrest or something of this nature, yes sir. But, since there could be a violation, there has to be a hearing to determine whether or not there was a violation, and if so, what should happen.”
