Jewish Communities Face Rising Threats

Today, a disturbing trend is on the rise—antisemitism is reaching record levels across the U.S. and beyond. From hate crimes to online harassment, Jewish communities are facing growing threats.

Antisemitic incidents are at an all-time high. The Anti-Defamation League reports a 36% increase in hate crimes against Jewish people in the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the FBI says that over 60% of all religiously motivated hate crimes in the U.S. target Jewish individuals, despite Jews making up just 2% of the population.

Dov Wilker, Regional Director of the American Jewish Committee stated that “the expansion of social media, unfortunately, in today’s day and age… misinformation, lies, discrimination… spreads like wildfire on today’s platforms and you’re not sure who to trust anymore.”

Jewish communities are speaking out, and they say they need allies. Whether it’s calling out hate speech, supporting stronger policies, or simply learning more, experts say the fight against antisemitism starts with awareness and action.
