Jim Brewer, II began his radio career while still in high school.

He became a station General Manager at the age of 28.

The Brewer family moved from Indiana to Chattanooga, where they built their radio kingdom.

But Jim Brewer, II gave the city much more than just music.

He chaired several local charitable organizations.

His company pumped millions of dollars into Chattanooga non-profits.

In 2011, Brewer Media was named the Corporate Philanthropist of the Year.

The Advertising Federation awarded him the Silver Medallion in 2012.

And in an era, when corporations gobbled up local radio stations, Brewer Media kept local ownership here in town.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 3, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with funeral services following at 1pm.
