Johnthony Walker denied shorter term

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Criminal Judge Don Poole this morning denied a motion from the attorney for Johnthony Walker asking for a shorter sentence.

Walker was convicted 4 months ago in the deaths of 6 children in the tragic 2016 Woodmore Bus crash.

He was sentenced to 4 years in prison, but he remains free on bond, pending an appeal.

Walker’s court appointed attorney, Amanda Dunn, entered the motion, which attracted the attention of District Attorney who says Dunn used information from expunged records in her presentation to the court.

Pinkston’s office says he will ask the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to investigate the release of expunged records.

It’s a class A misdemeanor.
