Former Brainerd security guard Josephus Reed pleads guilty
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A controversial case at Brainerd High School last year ended in court this morning with a guilty plea.
Josephus Reed pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault and impersonating a licensed professional.
He was hired by school administrators to provide security at the school.
But after an altercation with a student over a hoodie, it was revealed that Reed did not have the proper certification as a security officer.
The student’s mother claims he hit the student in the face after asking him to remove his hoodie, and the student put it back on.
Reed got 18 months on probation for his guilty plea.
