Jury finds Jennings guilty

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – After four grueling days of witness testimony, the Rodney Jennings murder trial has finally come to an end.

A jury convicted Jennings on one count of second degree murder.

Back in January of 2014, Jennings shot and killed Raphael White inside an East Lake apartment.

Right after the verdict was read, Raphael White’s mother told News 12 she was happy that justice had finally been served.

I’m so glad it’s over. It’s been a long journey for 27 months. No one can imagined the pain I carry daily for him taking my son,” Tina White said.

Jennings will appear in court on May 24th for sentencing. He could face between 15 and 20 years in prison.
