Jury finds Robert Glenn Ward guilty (this time) of child molestation

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Five years ago, a jury found Robert Glenn Ward not guilty of sexual battery of minors.

But the story was different today in Dalton.

This time, the jury took just 25 minutes to find Ward guilty of child molestation and sexual battery.

The current case involved just one victim.

But five others between 13 and 17 years of age testified about what Ward had done to them, including two victims from the first trial.

Prosecutors said he touched the victim sexually, and then showed the victim explicit videos.

They played one of the videos for the jury that police found on his phone.

Ward could get a 25 year term at his sentencing in July.

The prosecutor’s office says “We applaud the courage of these young women to step forward and face their abuser and testify against him so that he could be held accountable for his actions.”
